Dömös

In 1851, the reformers of Dömös bought a school building with the help of István Kapornai and “old” András Fabi. In 1873, the Dömös Reformed congregation finally succeeded in building a church on the land allotted to them during the 1868 reorganization, with the help of Pastor Nándor Gegus, which was consecrated on 12 November 1876. The church’s simple building cannot be attributed to an architectural style, but its distinctive tower, with its wood turrets, which was later added, is a prominent element of the village’s architecture. Since it stands on the edge of the former built-up area of Dömös, it is an exclamation mark on the row of houses in the village.
